The Benefits of Water & Staying Hydrated All Day

Did you know that there’s more to water than just quenching your thirst? Water actually has a whole host of health benefits that it offers us with every sip – so many in fact that on its own it’s as essential as good food, breathing, and exercise! There’s also many healing benefits you can get from adding enough clean water to your diet every day.

Hydration

Dry mouth, feeling dehydrated, dry skin, bad breath, and brittle hair and nails can all be attributed to not drinking enough water. When we get enough clean water, our bodies have all the moisture they need to keep everything looking and feeling great!

Heart Health

When we don’t get enough water, the consistency of our blood changes and becomes thicker and harder for the heart to pump. Blood with enough water content is lighter and easier for the body to work with which can take a great deal of stress off the heart.

Stay Cool!

Dehydration forces the body to work hard, and it also makes blood vessels and tissues constrict. In order for the body to shed excess heat the vessels and tissues need to be able to expand freely and increase surface area. Getting enough water makes this possible and it also quenches thirst and helps drop body temperature while you sip.

Skin Health

The skin is the largest organ we have – and it’s one of the most important. Hydrated skin is soft, pliable, strong, and able to heal itself quickly. Skin that’s too dry is prone to infections, less able to defend itself, easily damaged, and poor in texture and appearance.

Detoxing

Water intake helps your body flush away toxins and other wastes naturally so that every day you get some good detoxification. Dehydrated bodies are more likely to hold into toxins while proper hydration throughout the day helps your body clean as it goes.

Happy Muscles

Enough water helps the muscles stay free from cramps and pains while also helping them stay more flexible. Hydrated muscle tissues are easy to flex and strengthen while dehydrated muscles tend to become weak, easily fatigued, and more prone to injury.

Can you believe all of the amazing benefits that come from getting enough water each day?

The Mayo Clinic, a leading research organization in the United States, suggests that men get around 3 liters of clean, fresh water a day and that women get around 2.5 liters.
